Café Host for Matundret in Sollentuna Parish
In Sollentuna Parish, there is Matundret, which started as a project.
Matundret aims to help people from both a climate-smart and economic perspective. Volunteers assist in collecting food waste from local stores every week; vegetables and other food items that are nearing their best-before date. The food items are then turned into food bags that those in need can subscribe to by agreement with the deacon. The remaining food is transformed into delicious lunch dishes served in our café, Fiket.
Fiket is a pleasant meeting place where we meet each other, both guests and staff, in a respectful and caring manner. Fiket is largely run by volunteers, interns, and those in work training.
We are now looking for a café host for Matundret. Do you have experience in café/kitchen work and a heart for people in change? Do you want to work in a meaningful environment where you can combine practical work with supportive and pedagogical responsibilities and be part of the development? Then you might be the one we are looking for.
Responsibilities
The work is both practical and relationship-building and involves irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include:
- Receiving and managing food waste and continuously utilizing and planning food and menus based on the food waste.
- Being responsible for the operation of Fiket: planning, organizing, and executing daily tasks.
- Guiding various staff members and introducing them to the café and kitchen operations – creating a safe and developmental work environment.
- Ensuring hygiene according to food legislation.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a good ability to meet people in different life situations with sensitivity and respect.
- Is comfortable interacting with individuals in vulnerable life situations. Sees people's potential and believes in change.
- Has a diaconal approach and church affiliation.
- Has experience in café or kitchen work.
- Has relevant education in restaurant/food programs or equivalent training with experience in food preparation and serving.
- Enjoys working both practically and pedagogically, independently and in a team.
- Has good knowledge of food handling.
- Is structured, responsible, and service-oriented.
- Is resilient, easily builds relationships, and has good collaboration skills.
We highly value your personal qualities and expect you to share the values of the Church of Sweden. You need to have a B driver's license.
Meritorious:
- Have worked with guidance, work training, or other educational activities.
- Experience in diaconal or social work.
- Good IT skills and can handle administrative tasks.
- Food hygiene is also a relevant task if you have prior experience in this area.
Other information about the position
Start date by agreement. The position is 100%. We apply a probationary period. A background check will be requested from the person offered the position.

- A parish with a belief in the future and a desire to develop.
